Colony gameplay overview

The official goal is to develop a small group of survivors into a large, self-sustaining colony. Construction and policies shape the settlement, while citizen behavior determines whether authority produces loyalty, fear, gratitude, or dissent.

Jobs and resources

Citizens can mine, gather, haul, research, and manufacture. Expeditions into the Tyris System provide resources, opportunities to trade, and potential new citizens through conscription or capture.

Buildings and production

The colony manufactures weapons, armor, food, and supplies. Official updates documented a research queue and three crafting modes: Order mode targets a quantity, Stock mode maintains a threshold, and Auto mode produces continuously while materials are available. Those modes were documented as unlocking after the Warehouse was built. AG-12 later added manual quantity selection for item deposits into buildings.

Logistics and hauling

The Resource Transport Station is part of the documented hauling system. Official notes say assigned soldiers can collect materials made by resource buildings, and an upgraded station can move items directly to the Warehouse. Launch-build capacity and ideal staffing remain version-sensitive.

Policies and living conditions

The official site identifies salary, healthcare, housing conditions, Fear, Happiness, Hunger, and Loyalty as parts of colony governance. It also names curfews, rationing, indoctrination, public feasts, surveillance, and mass rallies as possible levers. Exact effects and optimal policy combinations remain version-sensitive.

Strategy status

A useful colony strategy depends on current production values, citizen needs, research timing, and patch balance. Recommendations will be added after the live Early Access loop can be tested end to end.
